Originally from Nagoya, Japan, Taiki Tsuyama is a Professional Bassist in Los Angeles, CA. Taiki seeks out groove playing in many forms both on stage and in the studio.
Influenced by his parents who both work in the music/dance industry, he first started to play piano, drums, and guitar at the age of 14. As a teenager he played many shows with several local rock bands based in his hometown Nagoya. Growing up Taiki was strongly influenced by R&B, funk, and soul music such as Michael Jackson and James Brown. From the moment he fell in love with the sound of bass, Taiki decided to pursue becoming a bass player.

In 2009 Taiki decided to move to Los Angeles to be able to reach his career goal. Through attending Pro Jam sessions around LA at the Baked Potato (Studio City), Café Cordiale (Sherman Oaks) and The Townhouse (Inglewood) Taiki met and performed with Top LA professionals, including Eddie Brown, Gorden Campbell, Chris Coleman, Donald Hayes, Andrew Gouche and Ethan Farmer.

In Los Angeles, Taiki was introduced to Gospel music at a local church. Amazed by the sound and rhythm, Taiki joined the River of Life music ministry.

In July of the same year, Taiki was asked to come to a jam session that turned out to be an audition for Tevin Campbell’s band. Campbell who has been nominated for Grammy awards and estimated 3 million album copies worldwide, approached Taiki very quickly, he became one of main bassists in Campbell’s band, and performed with him at The Historic BAL Theatre in San Leandro.

In 2013, Taiki also performed with Solspeak who has been nominated for the best pop song at 23rd annual Los Angeles Music Awards. Taiki was a part of both the recording sessions as well as live shows.
